BOUTINOT

“We strive to make and find wines with soul and character, wines with a story, wines that make you reach for the bottle and ask… “WOW! What the heck was that?” is Boutinot’s wine-making philosophy.

Boutinot are one of the UK’s leading distributors of high-class wines from around the world. Established in 1980, Boutinot’s operations include: grape growing, wine making, importing and acting as agents for over 150 of the world’s wine producers. They sell to a broad range of customers including independent specialists, major multiples and to the restaurant industry.

For Boutinot, it is all about the wine and that’s why they’ve been recognised as Wine Merchant of the Year at the Sommelier Wine Awards for the 5th year running.

Boutinot conduct tasting sessions all over the world from here in the UK to as far as Asia. The tasting sessions provide the trade customer with an opportunity to sample wines from around the world and speak to the producers themselves. It was the most recent event that Boutinot requested our help for their event graphics.

THE BRIEF

The brief was to produce a promotional banner solution for two wine tasting events at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London and The Point at Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester.

CONSIDERATIONS

The banner solution was to be hung from existing fixed cables so it was important that the material was lightweight. Some of the banners would sit against the windows so the client requested the material to be transparent to let daylight in. Boutinot also wanted to do the installation themselves so it was imperative that the fixtures and banners were easy to install.

SOLUTION

A site survey was conducted to ensure that 12 banners would fit and could be installed easily in both locations. In order for the banners to hang safely, a galvanised cable and gripper system was supplied along with a cable cutter for the customer to use.

The substrate was an Eco-Display fabric, which was lightweight and transparent enough to let light through but dense enough to keep the vibrancy of the client’s designs. The finished print had pockets stitched at the top and bottom for wooden dowel poles to be inserted - ensuring that the banners hung straight.

OUTCOME

The banners provided the following benefits:

  • Standardised solution – allowing for location variation and ensuring event consistency
  • Lightweight substrate – for efficient delivery costs and easy fitting
  • Simple to install by the client– resulting in cost effective installation
  • Highly visible graphics – delivered on time and within budget

CLIENT COMMENTS

“The events were a big success and we've had a lot of positive feedback from customers, wine producers, colleagues and our bosses too!

So thanks again for the excellent print job and service provided by Cestrian. Looking forward to working with you again in the future.”
