PACK AND COLLATE SHIFT SUPERVISOR

    • To maximise the capabilities and capacity of the Packing and Collating department equipment and staff, producing product as efficient as possible with the least amount of staffing.
    • To enable the client to achieve effortless introduction of finished products into its stores through innovative solutions.
    • Work with the production management team to ensure we have the correct finishing equipment to meet the needs of our customers.
    • Product innovation.
    • Product quality.
    • Proactive rather than reactive targeting of opportunities.
    • Reduction of waste, by identifying causes working with operators to identify and eradicate costs where possible.
    • Key that all deliveries must leave the site on time.
    • Verify that daily HSQE tasks have been carried out, and that individuals are conforming to the HSQE requirements.
    • Do not allow deviation from plan unless authorised by departmental manager.
    • Be the point of contact for staff members on your shift – within your department.
    • Ensure that time keeping is adhered to, i.e. not taking more than allocated smoking / lunch breaks.
    • Ensure that all sickness and unauthorised absents is reported to your manager.
    • Liaise with your managers outside of normal working hours.
    • Reduction of waste, by identifying causes working with operators to identify and eradicate costs where possible.
    • Challenging established methods, pushing forward best practice, identifying increased output areas.
    • Communicate any poor performance / attitudes of staff members on your shift to your manager.
    • Ensure that the next material requirements and job tickets are at the process in advance of the scheduled time.
    • Improve knowledge through training and rotation between processes.
    • Verify and check that staff are clocked on to jobs and are issuing materials on a regular basis.
    • Ensure that the house keeping rules are maintained, at the end of your shift you should agree with the oncoming shift supervisor that they accept that the house keeping is to the correct standard.
    • Report and record any non-conformances to your manager.
    • Carry out shift effective shift handovers between print / finishing shift leaders and managers.
    • Daily liaison with Despatch Manager in regards to overnight and Pack and Collating labels and spreadsheets.
    • Work as part of the finishing management team to ensure the common goals of the company are achieved.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Proven track Record of working in a fast-paced print finishing production facility.
  • Understanding of Health and safety legislations related to the workplace.
  • Understanding of the principles of supervision and/or work towards gaining a leadership qualification.
  • Willingness to understand and develop towards 6 sigma and 5 - 6's.
